What Is the Standard Publishing Process?
The standard publishing process begins with a developmental edit followed by a copyedit. After a final proofread, the manuscript is ready for internal formatting, followed by a final PDF proof to catch any last issues with spacing, punctuation, etc. Often the book jacket is designed and marketing copy written while the manuscript is being edited. Once everything is completed, from editing through final creatives, the book is ready to go live.
